Letter to the Community March 17, 2020

Hello Marlboro Community,

We officially finished our first virtual day. If you have any problems or concerns, please reach out to your child’s teacher and/or building principal. We will be happy to serve you during this difficult time.

Tomorrow, March 18th, will be the last day to enter the buildings to pick up chromebooks and personal items. If you need any items, please reach out immediately to your building leadership and we will accommodate you.

The district has enabled Google Hangouts Meet so that teachers have the option of using this application with our students. In order to do so, teachers will be asking for your consent. Please note that students will not be able to initiate a Hangouts Meet with other students. The teacher alone has the ability to initiate a session.

On Thursday, we will be remotely working in our district due to the concern for the transmission of COVID-19. We will be forwarding calls that come into our district to the proper staff member. Please know, that as of Thursday, the most efficient mode of communication will be email.

We will deliver lunches/snacks this Thursday to eligible students exactly like we delivered today. On Thursday, we will deliver lunches/snacks for Thursday and Friday. For next week (23rd - 27th), we will deliver lunches/snacks on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You will receive two lunches/snacks next week on Monday and Wednesday and one lunch/snack for Friday.

Please know that the Governor’s Executive Order closed schools indefinitely. There is the likelihood that our district may be closed longer than the two weeks I initially explained to the community. Please also know that we are revising our plan day-by-day to meet the needs of our students, staff, and our incredible community. If you know of anyone who needs help, please email me directly, and we will work to meet his/her needs. Please expect regular communication as the situation evolves.

Good luck on Day #2.

Sincerely,

Dr. Eric M. Hibbs
Superintendent of Schools
