Mr. Herzog

welcome

Hello Parents and Guardians,

Hello, and welcome to Classroom 25!  My name is Thomas Herzog, and I am a fourth-grade teacher here at Asher Holmes Elementary School.  This is my 21st year teaching here at Asher, all of which have been very enjoyable for me. Just as your child is eager to be entering fourth grade, I am just as excited to be teaching it. Not only will I teach the children many new things in the upcoming year, but I expect to learn many things from them too.

One thing that I hope we will develop over the course of the school year is a feeling that each of us is a valued member of the Classroom 25 community.  I invite students to share their hobbies and talents throughout the year.  You’re probably curious about your teacher’s hobbies.  My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my friends and family, especially with my four nephews, Tyler, Christian, Liam, and Lukas.  I also enjoy playing and watching sports, such as hockey and football, traveling, exercising and pushing my limits, and cruising in my Jeep whenever I get a chance.

Now that we’re more acquainted, I would like you to know Classroom 25’s secret recipe for helping everyone learn.  We have two classroom mottos.  The first one is “You are responsible for your own actions.”  We make our own choices and decisions and should not let others sway those decisions for us. The second one is “Never settle for less than your best.” I am a firm believer that we can do anything as long as we put our minds to it.  "I will" is a much more powerful statement than "I want" when it comes to personal achievements. Success will come if effort is put forth.

We are going to work hard, have fun, and learn a lot during this school year!   Anytime you have questions or concerns that you would like to discuss with me, please send me an email at [email protected].  I will respond to your email as quickly as possible.

If there is ever a question or concern, send me an email and we will work together to find a solution. We are all on the same side and student success cannot be achieved without proper parent-teacher collaboration. Together, we will make this a successful school year!

Sincerely,

Mr. Herzog
