Gifted Literacy (Grades K through 3)

The Gifted Literacy program is designed to meet the needs of students identified as requiring enrichment in reading and English language arts with the goal of raising metacognitive awareness in the application of comprehension strategies, synthesizing information from multiple sources across various genres, engaging in discussions based on textual analysis and evaluation, and responding to literature in sophisticated written form. Students are pulled out of their regular English language arts class for additional content-specific enrichment once per week.

Students in Kindergarten and grade one participate for the second half of the school year.

Students in grades two and three participate for a full year. 

All students must re-qualify for each program annually.
